What you need
- An Android phone or tablet with a USB-C port that supports OTG (almost all do). Older micro-USB phones need a micro-USB OTG adapter and are hit and miss.
- A USB-C to USB-A OTG adapter if the camera has a USB-A plug; many endoscopes ship with a USB-C tip already.
- Chrome (Samsung Internet and Edge also work; Firefox does not).
Steps
- Plug the camera in. If Android offers to open the UseePlus app, dismiss it.
- Open endoscope.app/viewer in Chrome and press Connect camera. Android asks you to allow the device.
- Photos and clips go to your Downloads folder (the page lists what you took during the visit). Chrome may ask once to allow multiple downloads.
Tip: use the phone sideways; the layout puts the capture buttons right under the picture.
Snags
- Nothing happens on Connect: the phone may be feeding the camera too little power. Try a powered OTG hub, or a different cable.
- The picture stutters: turn off Smooth noise in Advanced on slower phones.
- Android, not iPhone: iPhones and iPads cannot do this; here is why.
Try it
Open the viewer Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Chrome on Android. Nothing is uploaded.
