The quick test
Plug it in and open a normal camera app: Photo Booth on a Mac, Camera on Windows, Cheese on Linux. If the endoscope appears as a camera there, it is a UVC webcam. Any app can use it and you don't need this viewer. If no camera app sees it, keep reading.
Check the USB ID
| Where | How | Look for |
|---|---|---|
| Mac | Apple menu, About This Mac, System Report, USB | Vendor ID 0x2ce3, Product ID 0x3828 (or 0x0329 / 0x2022); name "supercamera" |
| Windows | Device Manager, the device, Properties, Details, Hardware Ids | VID_2CE3&PID_3828 (or VID_0329&PID_2022) |
| Linux | lsusb in a terminal | 2ce3:3828 or 0329:2022 |
Those IDs are the UseePlus / "supercamera" family, and the viewer speaks their protocol. A different ID that also needs the UseePlus app is worth a note to us; it may be a variant we can add.
Why two kinds exist
Webcam-type endoscopes use the standard USB video class, so every operating system has a driver for them. The UseePlus family uses its own protocol over plain bulk USB transfers, which keeps the camera cheap and lets the same hardware plug into phones through the maker's app, at the cost of working nowhere without that app. This viewer implements that protocol in the browser.
Try it
Open the viewer Chrome or Edge on a computer, or Chrome on Android. Nothing is uploaded.
